Moorer, Lewis Win

Compiled From Wire Services

Michael Moorer kept alive his hopes for a rematch with George Foreman and Lennox Lewis made his return to the ring a resounding success.

The two won their co-featured fights in Sacramento, Calif., Moorer with a unanimous 10-round decision over a game but outclassed Melvin Foster and Lewis by stopping a sluggish Lionel Butler with 5 seconds left in the fifth round.

Moorer’s victory came under the watchful eyes of Foreman, the IBF heavyweight champion who was telecasting the fight for HBO and who has promised Moorer a rematch.

In Glasgow, Scotland, British heavyweight Frank Bruno moved closer to his fourth shot at a world title with a second-round knockout of American Mike Evans.
