Serena’s Song Wins

Compiled From Wire Services

Thirteen days after she led the Kentucky Derby for more than a mile before tiring and finishing 16th, the filly Serena’s Song made a startling comeback when she won the Black-Eyed Susan Stakes by 9 lengths and gave D. Wayne Lukas his second stakes victory in two days at Pimlico Race Course.

Lukas opened his march on Pimlico on Thursday by winning the Miss Preakness Stakes with another filly, Lily Capote. He will shoot for even more rewards today when he runs two favored horses in the Preakness.
