Traffic Keeps Rising At Spokane Airport

A three-year trend of rapid growth at Spokane International Airport continued during the month of April.

During the month, 224,810 passengers boarded or departed flights at the airport, reflecting a 12 percent increase in passenger activity over April of 1994. For the first four months of the year, passenger activity has increased 12.25 percent over the same period in 1994.

Freight activity at the airport was up 7 percent during April over the same month a year ago.

At Felts Field, total airport operations were down 4 percent for the month but freight operations surged 32 percent.

Passenger traffic at Spokane International, driven by the introduction of low air fare carriers into the Spokane market, grew almost 70 percent from 1991 through 1994, according to airport officials.
