Errors Knock Sasquatch Out, 2-1

Two first-inning errors led to two unearned runs and Clackamas Community College eliminated Community Colleges of Spokane 2-1 in the NWAACC tournament on Saturday.

The runs wasted a fine pitching performance by Julie Fountain, who only allowed three hits.

The Sasquatch, who finished third in the tournament, had stayed alive with an 11-5 victory over Edmonds Community College. CCS batted around in a four-run first inning, with Carrie Morris getting two of her five RBIs. Tanya Palmer added a three-run double in the five-run fifth inning, when the Sasquatch put the game away.

CCS finished the season 30-9.
