Tri-City Chinook Fold

The Tri-City Chinook has called it quits after three seasons, the team’s marketing director said.

“We’re done,” said Louis Ojeda, who doubles as the mascot for the Continental Basketball Association team.

Owner Mike Lundgren would not comment, saying that a news conference would be scheduled for Monday.

“I feel morally obligated to talk to some people before I talk to the media,” he told The Tri-City Herald.

Lundgren and the Chinook staff moved their equipment out of the Tri-Cities Coliseum into a Pasco warehouse on Friday.

The Chinook had a total attendance of 119,493, or an average of 4,268 for 28 home games, during the regular season, which ended this spring. That ranked the Chinook sixth among the CBA’s 16 teams.
