Defending champion Ritzville advanced all five of its golfers to the second round of the WIAA/U.S. Bank State A/B girls golf tournament.

Erica Moeller led the way with a 90 at the par-70 SunTides Golf Course, although she was well behind the lead of Kriss Rojecki of Vashon.

Rojecki shot a 75 on Monday, giving her a nine stroke lead on Stacey Harnash of Oroville and Suzzane Robbel of Charles Wright.

Heather Almond of Newport tied for fourth with an 88.

The top 20 moved into the second round, which determines the team champion.

Marci Kinson, Angela Gibler, Trisha Wellsandt and Katie Kirkendall also made the cut for the Broncs.

In the boys tournament at the par 71 Yakima Elks course, Tres Kirkebo shot a 74 for a two stroke lead over Dan Cinqualbres of Elma and Ryan Whitaker of Cle Elum.

Mike O’Leary of Lakeside is another stroke back.

Foster’s Bill Zuvela and Joe Korn are both at 78, tied with Matt Schwisow of Ritzville, putting Foster in contention for the team title. However, Cascade had four golfers shoot 80.

Among the boys at 72 are Ryan Benzel of Ritzville and Ryan Hattrup of Sprague-Harrington.
