Westphal Seems Set

Phoenix Suns coach Paul Westphal said he signed a multiyear contract extension months before the Suns were eliminated from the playoffs, triggering speculation that he might be fired.

The Suns did not announce the deal, at Westphal’s request. The original threeyear deal was to expire after this season, which ended with the Suns losing the Western semifinals to Houston.
