Anti-Tax Mood Fueled School Bond Failure
Most people who voted against last year’s failed Post Falls school bond levy did so because it would increase taxes, a school district-sponsored survey has found.
Only 50 percent to 55 percent of those polled support a bond levy for the proposed new high school, though 72 percent agree that more schools are needed in the district.
An overwhelming majority, 90 percent, said that good schools enhance the quality of life in a community.
Almost half, 45 percent, said they were unaware the district was considering another election.
The district hired a polling firm to conduct the survey.
