Big Sky Grows Bigger

Compiled From Wire Services

Buoyed by the passage of recent student referendums, Sacramento State and Cal State Northridge applied for admission to the Big Sky Conference.

The announcement was made by the Big Sky, which has established a committee to visit both schools this summer.

If accepted, the schools would join the conference for the 1996-97 athletic season. Portland State, an independent Division II school, was accepted by the Big Sky Tuesday for admission with “memberelect” status. The Vikings will become full members in 1996-97. Southern Utah is expected to apply soon.
