Driver Killed In Rollover Identified

The driver who died in a car accident Monday night on the Cheney-Spokane Road was identified Tuesday as 48-year-old David R. Bafus of Cheney.

Bafus was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident at 6:50 p.m., said Dexter Amend, the Spokane County Coroner.

Bafus was driving south at speeds in excess of 70 mph when he lost control of the 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse.

He was partially thrown from the car as it rolled, according to police.

Bafus was not wearing a seat belt, police said.
