Associated Press

Colville’s Terra Lawson and Brenda Hall of East Valley-Spokane, 1-2 in the district tournament, finished 2-3 in the WIAA/U.S. Bank State AA girls golf tournament at Lipoma Firs Golf Club.

Lawson had a 164 (79-85) in two rounds over the par 72 course and Hall 168 (85-83) to trail Sedro Woolley freshman Kelli Kamamura, who shot 73-79-152.

Hanford took the team title with 93 points ahead of runner-up Burlington-Edison’s 75.

Frontier League entries didn’t fare as well in the boys event at the same site. West Valley was fourth (63) and defending champion Clarkston (33) eighth behind Seattle Prep’s winning total of 75.33 points.

Sehome’s Jeff Wilson shot an 8-over 152 (76-76) over two days to emerge as the boys winner. Jeremy Champoux of Yakima’s West Valley was runner-up with a 153 as the event ended Tuesday.
