Elsie Erdman

Chewelah, Wash.

Service for Elsie W. Erdman, 89, will be at 2 p.m. today at Schanzenbach Funeral Home in Chewelah. Burial will follow at Chewelah City Cemetery.

Mrs. Erdman, who was born in Lind, Wash., died Sunday.

She moved to Chewelah from Ritzville, Wash., in 1938.

She was a charter member of the Assembly of God Church.

Her survivors include seven sons, Mervin Erdman of Deer Park, Raymond Erdman of Valley, Wash., William Erdman of Loon Lake, Wash., James Erdman of Colville, Wash., Harry Erdman of Amanda Park, Wash., Lester Erdman of Hunters, Wash., and Gerald Erdman of Lewiston; four daughters, Helen Carr of Valley, Evelyn Wagner of St. John, Wash., Betty Christensen of Loon Lake and Judy Ely of Clarkston, Wash.; three sisters, Leontina Roth of Walla Walla, Ida Erdman of Othello, Wash., and Ruth Nicholson of Hunters; and numerous grandchildren, greatgrandchildren and great-greatgrandchildren.

Dorothy Moore

Spokane

Graveside service for Dorothy L. Moore, 67, will be at 2 p.m. today at Fairmount Memorial Park. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Moore, a 66-year Spokane resident, died Sunday.

She was born in St. Louis and was a homemaker.

Her husband, Floyd Moore, preceded her in death.

She is survived by one daughter, Sandra Ellenz of Spokane; two sons, Dale Moore of Spokane and David Moore of Edmonds, Wash; her mother, Clara Disotell of Spokane; one sister, Shirley Jacobson, and one brother, Harold Kaehn, both of Spokane; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Jane Kepl

Spokane

Service for Jane E. Kepl, 73, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South. Burial will be at Wild Rose Cemetery in Deer Park.

Born in Deer Park, Mrs. Kepl died Sunday.

She was a registered nursing assistant and worked in Spokane.

She is survived by one son, Timothy Harmon of Seattle; two sisters, Pollyann Wells of Seattle and Ellen Siemers of Centralia, Wash.; and one brother, Norman Reiper of Portland.

Delbert Clark

Spokane

No service will be held for Delbert James Clark, at his request. Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Clark, who died Saturday, was 76.

He was born in Barous, Alberta, and had worked as a carpenter in heavy construction. He had served in the Army Air Corps during World War II.

He is survived by one son, Roger Clark, and one daughter, Linda Clark, both of Reno, Nev.; two sisters, Mae Lewis of Walla Walla and Ann Barlow of Gig Harbor, Wash.; and two grandchildren.

Richard Wanless

Coolin, Idaho

Memorial service for Richard W. Wanless, 58, is planned for 9 a.m. Friday at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Spokane. Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home in Newport, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Wanless, who was born in Spokane, died Friday at home.

He served in the National Guard and operated a photography business. He also worked as a carpenter and sold firefighting equipment. He had lived in Coolin for 10 years.

Mr. Wanless was a member of the Coolin Volunteer Fire Department.

He is survived by two sons, Kenneth and David Wanless, both of Spokane; one daughter, Sherri Wanless-Johnson of Modesto, Calif.; one sister, Mary Grammer of Redlands, Calif.; and four grandchildren.

Dorise Bove

Spokane

Memorial service for Dorise M. Bove, 75, is planned for 2 p.m. Thursday at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home.

Born in South Carolina, Mrs. Bove died Saturday.

She was a 41-year Spokane resident and was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Linda Cline of Spokane; and one sister, Gloria Cashion of Spartanburg, S.C.

Larry Wilson

Spokane

Memorial service for Larry R. Wilson, 45, is planned for 11:30 a.m. Friday at Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home. There will be private inurnment.

Mr. Wilson died Saturday at home.

He was born in Wallace and had lived in Spokane for the past 35 years.

He graduated from Rogers High School and operated U.B.U. Tanning and Styling.

He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Spurlock Wilson; three sons, Casey and Benjamin Wilson, both of Spokane, and Eric Christian of Port Orchard, Wash.; his mother, Bonita Bratten of Spokane; one stepbrother, Bill Bratten, and two sisters, Janet Fuller and Kathy McHenry, all of Spokane; and one granddaughter.

Jacob Hilzer

Ritzville, Wash.

Service for Jacob Hilzer, 83, will be at 11 a.m. today at Danekas Funeral Home in Ritzville. Burial will be at Lutheran Cemetery in Ritzville.

Mr. Hilzer, who was born in Russia, died Monday.

He moved to Ritzville when he was 3 and later farmed with his family. He was the projectionist at the Ritzville Theater for many years.

He was a member of the Lutheran Church in Ritzville and the Model Airplane Club.

His wife, Dora, died in 1950.

Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Hamnett of Gresham, Ore., and Marlene Mosier of Tacoma; two sisters, Florence Hart and Emma Kosek, and two brothers, Victor and Ben Hilzer, all of Ritzville; four grandchildren and one greatgranddaughter.

Virginia Casey

Memorial service for Virginia E. Casey, 71, is set for 3 p.m. today at Millwood Community Presbyterian Church. There will be private inurnment at the Davenport (Wash.) Cemetery. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Casey, a longtime Spokane resident, died Sunday. She was born in Spokane.

She had worked for Pacific Northwest Bell for 35 years and retired in 1982.

She was a member of the Millwood Community Presbyterian Church, the Telephone Pioneers and the Sacred Heart Service League.

Her husband, George Casey, died in 1978.

She is survived by one son, Vance Casey of Spokane; one daughter, Valarie Austin of Snohomish, Wash.; and four grandchildren.

Eunice Hagen

Memorial service for Eunice M. Hagen, 75, will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Opportunity Presbyterian Church. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Hagen, who died Friday, was a lifetime Spokane resident.

She was a housekeeper and a member of Opportunity Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by two sisters, Phyllis Erickson of Spokane and Virginia Baxter of Colorado Springs, Colo.

Catherine Anuszewski

Vigil service for Catherine R. Anuszewski, 87, will be at 7:30 p.m. today at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. Funeral Mass is planned for 10 a.m. Thursday at Assumption Catholic Church, where she was a member. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Mrs. Anuszewski, who died Sunday, was born in South Milwaukee, Wis. She had lived in Spokane for 33 years and was a homemaker.

Her husband, Thomas Anuszewski, died in 1977.

She is survived by one daughter, Dorothy Schmitt of Spokane; four grandchildren and eight greatgrandchildren.

Tory Davis

Kettle Falls, Wash.

Service for Tory E. Mason Davis, 5, is planned for 11 a.m. Thursday at Colville (Wash.) Assembly of God with burial to follow at Meyers Falls Cemetery in Kettle Falls. Danekas Funeral Home in Colville is in charge of arrangements.

Tory died Friday when he was crushed by a rock slide north of Wenatchee.

He was born in Colville.

He is survived by his mother, Diana Davis of Kettle Falls; his father, Rory Davis of Colville; his grandparents, Ernie and Marie Davis of Kettle Falls, Dan and Doris Rape of Kettle Falls, and Herb and Barbara Munro of Colville; and his great-grandmothers, Varien Weeks of Lopez Island, Wash., and Pearl Raymond of Kooskia, Idaho.

Dr. John Corkery Jr., M.D.

Spokane

Memorial service for Dr. John Ripley Corkery Jr., 85, will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. There will be private inurnment.

Dr. Corkery, who was born in Spokane, died Sunday.

He served in the Army during World War II and served as an Army surgeon in Italy.

He graduated from the University of Oregon Medical School and was a member of the Spokane Medical Society.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Marjorie Corkery; two sons, John Corkery, III, M.D., and Landry Corkery, M.D., of Bellingham; one daughter, Martha Mills of Eugene, Ore.; one sister, Flora Stallings, M.D., of Spokane; and seven grandchildren.

Clara Melville

Lamont, Wash.

Memorial service for Clara A. Melville, 88, is set for 1 p.m. Friday at Sprague (Wash.) Community Church with burial to follow at Macabee Cemetery in Sprague. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Melville died Sunday in Spokane.

She was born in Dwight, N.D., and graduated from Cheney Normal School. A homemaker, she had lived in Sprague before she moved to Lamont.

Her husband, John Henry, preceded her in death.

She is survived by one son, James Melville of Lamont; one daughter, Marcia Friet of Bellevue, Wash.; 12 grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren.

Florence Wold

Spokane

Memorial service for Florence M. Wold, 70, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South.

Mrs. Wold, who was born in Seattle, died May 10.

She had lived in Spokane for 38 years and was a homemaker.

She volunteered with the American Cancer Society and was a Cub Scout den mother. She was a Ham on Regal player at Ferris High School from 1964 until 1976.

Her husband, Victor Wold, died in 1982.

Mrs. Wold is survived by two sons, Victor Wold of Red Wing, Minn., and Jeff Wold of Endicott, Wash.; and four grandchildren.

Evelyn Shugert

Spokane

Service for Evelyn W. Shugert, 81, will be at 2 p.m. today at Riplinger Funeral Home. Private burial will be at Spokane Memorial Gardens.

Born in Odessa, Wash., Mrs. Shugert died Saturday.

She graduated from Odessa High School and Kinman Business University.

She was a secretary for Spokane School District 81 and had lived in Spokane for more than 55 years.

She was a member of Whitworth Presbyterian Church and was active in the Red Cross, Meals on Wheels, and the Philanthropic Educational Organization.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Paul Shugert; one son, Bob Shugert of Spokane; and two grandchildren.
