Hollywood Madam Heidi Fleiss was sentenced to three years in prison and fined $1,500 Wednesday for running a call-girl ring that catered to the rich and famous.
Fleiss, 29, showed little emotion as Superior Court Judge Judith Champagne handed down the mandatory minimum sentence.
“This was a highly sophisticated and lucrative criminal enterprise,” the judge said. “It cannot be called a victimless crime.”
Fleiss, who has admitted running an exclusive call-girl ring, was arrested after an undercover sting.
Critics said the police unfairly targeted Fleiss while ignoring her customers. The prosecutor said she exploited gullible young women for her own profit.
