Several Memorial Day services are scheduled this weekend:

Mt. Hope Cemetery, Valley Chapel Road west of Rockford, 10:30 a.m. Sunday. Conducted by the Edward Leehan American Legion Post 165. World War II veterans will talk about the 50th anniversary of the end of the war.

Fairmount Memorial Park, 5200 W. Wellesley., 11:15 a.m. Monday, at the Iwo Jima Memorial. Conducted by Spokane Detachment of Marine Corps League. Featured speaker, Congressman George Nethercutt.

Pines Cemetery, 1402 S. Pines Road, noon, Monday. Conducted by VFW Post 1435 at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home’s Veteran’s Memorial.

Spokane Memorial Gardens, 5909 S. Cheney-Spokane Road, 10 a.m. Monday. Conducted by BPOE Lodge 228 and the Spokane Army Reserve, second Battalion, 416th Regiment, led by Sgt. Major Uptagrafft.

Holy Cross Cemetery, 7200 N. Wall., 10 a.m. Monday. Mass hosted by the Knights of Columbus with the Rev. John Steiner. Music provided by St. Thomas More Choir.

St. Joseph’s Cemetery, 17825 E. Trent, 10 a.m. Monday. Main celebrant, the Rev. Dick Hemenway.
