Lecture Series On Relationships Tempered With Good Humor

The Rev. Gordon Mallory, a family issues expert and a former international missionary, will present the last of his series of messages on relationships at 7:30 p.m. today at Cornerstone Pentecostal Church.

The church is at 14214 E. Sprague, behind Sta-Fit in Regency Square.

Mallory, who currently pastors a church in Seattle, still finds time to travel abroad. He speaks on family and relationship issues, including dating, marriage, child discipline and finance.

Sound like dry fare? Ellen Mayo, a church spokeswoman, says it isn’t, at least not when presented by Mallory.

“He’s hilarious,” she says. “He presents things in a very humorous way to make things more palatable than the hard reality of it.”

Mayo says Mallory tackles other issues besides just family life, too.

“It’s tremendous. He covers dating before marriage and things about singles, so it’s not just for families only. It’s how to live a productive Christian life.”

Missionaries to Argentina

Scott and Shirley Montgomery, missionaries headed for Argentina, will make a stop at Crossroads Baptist Church, 509 N. Sullivan Road, on Sunday.

The Montgomerys will speak at the 9:30 and 10:45 a.m. services.

“They’re coming to share the need that particular country has and to raise prayer and financial support for their trip,” said the Rev. Tom Meyers, pastor of Crossroads.

Meyers said the missionaries are both recent graduates of Western Seminary in Portland.

New sermon series

Pines Baptist Church, 714 S. Pines Road, is beginning a nine-week sermon series on Bible prophecy called “Coming to the End.”

Service times are at 9:30 and 11 a.m.

The messages of the Rev. Terry Little, the church’s pastor, will also be aired locally on KUDY radio, 1280 on the AM dial. Broadcasts can he heard at 11 a.m. Sundays and 2 p.m. on Mondays.

For more information, call the church at 928-7880.
