Like They Say, You Can’t Judge A Book By Its Cover

Is cover girl Brandi Quinones just another airheaded model?

Make up your own mind, based on these excerpts from an interview she gave to Mademoiselle magazine:

Her worst phobia is “a bad hair day.” Her pet mascots are five turtles: “I put nail-polish dots on the backs of their shells to tell them apart. I couldn’t think of names.”

Her childhood ambition was to be on “The Muppet Show.” When she was sent to Paris to work for Karl Lagerfeld at Chanel, she recalls: “Up until that day, I didn’t even know what Chanel was. I had a cousin named Chanel, and that was about it.”

And the latest book she’s read?

“One Hundred Years of Solitude,” by Gabriel Garcia Marquez.

Jerry Lewis, stooping to comment on Kato Kaelin (on the “Geraldo” show): “Get a load of the mentality that made him a celebrity. What does that say about our country?” We know, because a little birdie told us so

Sam Snead turns 83 today.

You may now kiss the … well, just go ahead

Rocker Melissa Etheridge and her significant other, film director Julie Cypher, are talking more and more about tying the knot. “I think it will be barefoot,” Etheridge says of the ceremony in Rolling Stone. “And we’ll both wear dresses. But it won’t be traditional.”

But his most excellent adventure was with Bill

Keanu Reeves denies those nagging rumors about his homosexuality in the July issue of the gay magazine Out, backed up by “Speed” co-star Sandra Bullock, who says: “He has lots of girlfriends but he’s very private about his life.”

Working with Courtney, how could he be crazy?

Drew Barrymore’s current fling with Hole guitarist Eric Erlandson is lasting longer than last year’s 39-day marriage to Jeremy Thomas. “It’s so sick and scary, he’s so wonderful,” Barrymore says, adding she’s glad he’s not an actor: “There’s an insanity that comes along with the profession that’s very hard to deal with.”

He could do it all night and not get tired

Chris Isaak, whose new album “Forever Blue” is all about his former flame, knows how hard it is to meet Ms. Right: “It’s easy to find someone who wants to go to bed. But it’s real hard to find somebody who’ll let you say: ‘Look, I got a cardboard box and a carpeted floor. Here’s my plan. You get in the box and hold this flashlight and I’ll push you around like you’re in a car.”’

Yeah, whaddya bet she never changed the oil?

And speaking of old loves, Madonna’s used ‘69 Mercedes 280 SE convertible goes on the auction block next month in New York City. According to Variety, the Material Girl volunteers that she has done “everything” in the car.
