Federal Program Helps Boise Add Police
Five new Boise police officers join the ranks of President Bill Clinton’s pledge to put an additional 100,000 police on America’s streets.
The five graduated over the weekend, their education was funded by the Justice Department’s Office of Community Oriented Policing Services. So far in Idaho, the COPS office has provided funding for nearly 11 new officers.
The estimated funds made available already for additional police in the state under the Administration’s crime package exceeds $800,000.
