Moderate Earthquake Hits Island Of Rhodes

An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 4.8 shook the island of Rhodes early Sunday. No injuries or damage were reported.

The Athens Geodynamic Institute said the quake’s epicenter was 36 miles west of the island. Rhodes is about 250 miles southeast of Athens.
