Plummer Man Killed When Car Rolls Over

From Staff And Wire Reports

A 26-year-old Plummer man died Saturday when his car slid down a ditch bank and rolled over.

Dale SiJohn died of head and neck injuries, according to the Bureau of Indian Affairs.

SiJohn was driving his small sedan on a private road known as Poleyard Road, at a log storage area on the southeast side of Plummer. He apparently was going too fast on the road, which is pockmarked with potholes, according to Bureau of Indian Affairs police officer Michael Lemieux.

“He lost control of the car, it flipped on the embankment and he died at the scene,” the officer said.

SiJohn was the car’s only occupant.

He had lived in Plummer since 1993. He was a member of the Coeur d’Alene Indian tribe.

SiJohn will be buried Wednesday at the Sacred Heart Mission Catholic Church in DeSmet.
