Police To Keep Simpson’s Fake Beard

Compiled From Wire Services

Judge Lance Ito refused Tuesday to let O.J. Simpson immediately get back his fake beard, handgun and other personal items seized by police in their double-murder investigation.

Ito ruled that the judge who will hear wrongful death civil lawsuits against Simpson should decide what to do with the personal property.

A jury acquitted Simpson on Oct. 3 in the June 12, 1994, knife slayings of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and Ron Goldman.

“What is (Simpson) going to do with a fake goatee in the next two weeks?” asked attorney Daniel Petrocelli, who represents the Goldman family.

In addition to credit cards and frequent flier cards, Simpson asked for the return of his Blockbuster movie rental card and a VIP card for the restaurant club Hooters.

He also asked for a garage door opener, cassettes titled “Two Funky” and “Frank Sinatra Duets,” and some Calvin Klein underwear.
