Valley Man Dies After Vehicle Careens Down Embankment

From Staff Reports

A 20-year-old Spokane Valley man died early Wednesday after he lost control of his vehicle and drove over a South Hill embankment, police said.

Stacey Carman, 2301 N. Wilbur, was driving west in the 800 block of Sixth Avenue near Deaconess Medical Center. He pulled into a parking lot just before 2 a.m. and started spinning circles, or “doughnuts,” police said.

As he hit the gas, the vehicle hit a curb, went over a steep embankment and hit several trees as it fell. Carman’s upper body came out of the vehicle and he was pinned underneath. He died at the scene.

Three passengers, Cory Anton, 20; Timothy Smith, 24; and Joshua Vincent, 22, were treated at Deaconess and released. All three live in the Spokane Valley.

None of the men were wearing seat belts and all had been drinking, police said. , DataTimes
