Burglars Grab Case Of Black Gold Jewelry

From Staff And Wire Reports

Burglars crashed through a glass door and carried away an entire display case full of black gold jewelry from a corner drug store early Thursday morning.

Tabor’s Modern Drug is missing more than $2,000 dollars’ worth of gold rings, pendants and necklaces, Wallace Police Chief Scott TenEyck said.

The thieves were focused.

“That’s the only thing we found missing,” said TenEyck, adding that a large display of Timex watches blocking the shattered door had been knocked over and strewn across the floor.

The burglary apparently took place between 2 a.m., when a patrol car noted that everything looked normal, and 5 a.m., when a newspaper carrier discovered the damage.

A hammer probably used by the thieves was found and will be fingerprinted, TenEyck said.

He asked that anyone with information please contact Wallace Police.

Rocks thrown through the windows of two Osburn banks on Thursday apparently were unrelated to the Wallace incidents, police said.
