Bill “Mojo” Lackey, an assistant equipment manager and fixture with the Houston Oilers since 1979, died Thursday of a stroke. He was 43. Beginning in the “Luv Ya Blue” era under former coach Bum Phillips, Lackey became a favorite of NFL fans for the way he sprinted onto the field to get the kicking tee and spiked it on the sideline after turning a somersault.
