Hooded Gunman Robs Motel In Downtown Early Saturday

From Staff And Wire Reports

A hooded gunman robbed a downtown motel early Saturday.

The clerk at the Shilo Inn, 923 E. Third, told police he was talking on the phone when a man entered the lobby about 1:30 a.m.

Wearing a hood that partly covered his face, the man walked to the registration counter and pulled out a handgun. He demanded the clerk give him money from the register.

The clerk gave the gunman the money and the man left.

The gunman was in his late 20s or early 30s, about 5-foot-11, and weighs 180 pounds.

He was wearing a black, waist-length hooded jacket and black gloves.
