Injuries

Seahawks: DE Michael McCrary (knee) is out. QB John Friesz (shoulder) is doubtful. S Rafael Robinson (hip) is questionable. S Jay Bellamy (thigh), LB Duane Bickett (groin), S Robert Blackmon (hamstring), and LB Dean Wells (thumb) are probable.

Giants: S Maurice Douglass (knee) is out. QB Dave Brown (knee), TE Howard Cross (knee), and WR Thomas Lewis (foot) are questionable.

NOTABLE

Giants coach Dan Reeves, in 12 seasons as head coach in Denver, went 12-12 against the Hawks, winning only three of 12 games in the Kingdome.

The only other time Hawks coach Dennis Erickson lost four games in a row was in 1987 with the Washington State Cougars.

This is the first time this season the Hawks appear on Fox TV.

Too bad Hawks quarterback John Friesz isn’t healthy. When he played the Giants last year when he was with the Redskins, Friesz completed 32 of 50 passes for a careerhigh 381 yards.

With 127 yards rushing last week, Warren went over 100 yards for the fourth time this season and the 17th time in his career.

ANALYSIS

The one question that overrides all others coming into this one is whether Mirer can pull out of the career nosedive he’s been in.

His confidence frayed to the breaking point, Mirer threw two interceptions in two attempts last week.

How will he do against a Giants’ team that picked off four Washington passes last week?

The answer will determine the outcome of the game.

Look for a simplified offense featuring short patterns to try to prop up Mirer’s shaky confidence.
