Get A Hunch, Bet A Bunch

Jim Price Correspondent

After Saturday, who’s inclined to brag? After Sunday, why not? Super Ciel was a different kind of horse. His easy Spokane Derby win, back by $166 in direct bets and parlay money, put the bankroll back in the black.

Saturday, thanks to couple of bad betting decisions and a little poor luck, was dreadful. Sunday could have been awesome. A losing place photo in the seventh race would have produced about $100 more profit and, had the fourth horse been third behind Super Ciel, three trifectas would have generated at least $400 more.

Today, we find out if Jenny Jevon can stretch her prowess over a distance of ground. If she wins, she’ll be a candidate for claimer of the meet.

Here are today’s selections:

THIRD: $20 to win on JENNY JEVON and $5 quinellas with STEPHANIE’S WORLD and TIERRA VIVA.

FOURTH: $10 to win on SOFT HARMONY. Split half of any winnings between MUFFIN MONSTER in the sixth and C L FIB in the ninth.

SIXTH: $10 to win on MUFFIN MONSTER. Parlay half of any winnings to C L FIB.

NINTH: $10 to win on C L FIB. $1 trifectas pairing her with every combo of CLEVER PURSUIT, PROLIVER, ROSE TO GLORY and QUEEN SALMON ($12).

Original bankroll: $2,000.

Saturday’s result: Lost $99.

Sunday’s result: Won $289.30

Present bankroll: $2,070.50.
