Dollar Loses Ground

The dollar continued its tumble from late last week as traders took profits in dollar-yen deals early Monday and wariness settled over a market waiting for a U.S. budget deal and new economic numbers.

The dollar also fell against the German mark.

Inflation numbers, which can rock bond prices and influence the dollar, are due later in the week. Also, the U.S. is closing in on its borrowing limit, which Republicans in Congress have refused to increase without a budget deal.
