Lemieux Expected To Miss Game Against Kings As Precaution

Associated Press

Mario Lemieux was expected to miss the Pittsburgh Penguins’ game against the Los Angeles Kings today as a health precaution, the team said Friday.

Lemieux, who was sidelined by back problems and Hodgkin’s disease last season, was expected to be in the lineup Friday night as the Penguins visited the San Jose Sharks.

Although his back has not been hurting him, he has avoided playing back-to-back games this season.

He leads the NHL in scoring with 32 points in 10 games.

He will likely be back in the lineup Tuesday as the Penguins play host to the Dallas Stars.
