Pacers’ Brown Fined By League

The NBA came down hard on Indiana Pacers’ coach Larry Brown, suspending him and assessing a total of $61,000 in fines for his outburst directed at a replacement official during a game this week with the New York Knicks.

In addition, he was slapped with $11,000 in fines, which includes an automatic $1,000 for being ejected from Thursday night’s 103-95 Knicks victory.

The Pacers were fined $50,000 by Rod Thorn, NBA senior vice president of basketball operations, for their coach’s actions.

Marshall Glickman, son of Portland Trail Blazers founder Harry Glickman, has resigned as president of Trail Blazers Inc. and the Oregon Arena Corp., the business arm of the Trail Blazers, the team announced.

Tests confirmed that the Chicago Bulls’ Dennis Rodman pulled his left calf muscle earlier this and he will miss up to four weeks.

Washington Bullets guard Mark Price underwent successful surgery on his left foot but will be sidelined until mid-February.

The Cleveland Cavaliers’ Tyrone Hill, injured in a hit-and-run accident while driving to Tuesday night’s home game, sustained a bruise on his spinal cord. He will be out of action at least two weeks.
