Sandpoint Residents Evacuate For Arrest
Sandpoint authorities evacuated a neighborhood Saturday afternoon to arrest a man suspected in a Montana shooting.
Randy Hoyle, who is also wanted on several warrants in Bonner County, was arrested at 417 Washington St. Police say Hoyle also goes by the name Randy Porath.
A detective saw Hoyle at the house Saturday morning. Authorities watched the house while they waited for a search warrant.
City, county and state authorities evacuated the Sandpoint neighborhood before serving the search warrant at 3:18 p.m.
Hoyle was booked into the Bonner County Jail on a bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms warrant in Bonner County.
Authorities from Montana were expected to arrive in Sandpoint on Monday to question Hoyle about a charge of attempted murder for the Montana shooting.
