The Hot Seat A Weekly Look At People In The News

I bet the little animals wouldn’t have voted this way

Spokane voters have spoken. And they decided sex-crazed dogs and cats are a bigger priority than the D.A.R.E program. That’s right. Taxes will increase, fire protection will decrease, the streets won’t be as clean but nearly $100,000 will be set aside to spay and neuter pets. No longer will dogs and cats be hanging around street corners yelling, “hey baby, wanna date?” Even normally reserved Councilman Chris Anderson admitted he was flabbergasted. Maybe the language used on the ballot made the money seem insignificant but that’s no excuse. City residents deserve what they get.

Colin leaves the Republicans Powell-less

Colin Powell! Get your five star fanny on The Hot Seat! You’ve taken away a choice the country’s middle class desperately wanted. Your wife is worried about an assassination. So is mine but for different reasons. Ralph Reed, bark, bark, bark, and his right wing robots are gloating. They can’t stand the thought of freedom being defined under any view but that of the religious right. Their chest-pounding sounds like the drum solo in In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida. Cougar quarterback finds the Price is steep

What’s all the hubbub about Cougar head coach Mike Price benching quarterback Chad Davis? Davis is a mediocre quarterback at best and Price tried to spark his team by making a substitution. Isn’t that his job? Isn’t that why he makes $2.35 an hour? Talk radio was filled with angry Cougs blasting Price. Some callers questioned the heritage of this fine newspaper’s sports columnists for their reporting of the story. Enough. Davis acted like a spoiled brat and Price did what any adult would do with a spoiled brat: He grounded him. Way to go, Mike.
