Benny Casady Recognized For Academic Achievement

Benny Casady, a Whitman College freshman received Honors at Entrance recognition this fall.

Casady, a 1995 graduate of Kellogg High School, is the son of Bob Casady of Kellogg and the grandson of Bruce and Marie Casady of Kellogg.

The college honors are awarded to a limited number of first-year students in recognition of outstanding academic achievement in high school and expectation of success in college.

Dan Mills, a first-year nursing student at North Idaho College, was elected president of the Idaho Nursing Student Association at the fall conference at Idaho State University in Pocatello. Mills will serve a one-year term beginning next May.

Airman Earl Mills Jr. graduated from basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.

Mills, the son of Earl and Vicki Mills of Post Falls, is a 1995 graduate of Post Falls High School.

Airman Christopher Johnson, a 1995 graduate of Post Falls High School, recently graduated from basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.

Johnson is the grandson of Don and Nell Johnson of Post Falls, and Dick and Joy Parker of Coeur d’Alene.

Joshua Wainwright and Richard Wainwright, sons of Dawn McLees of Kellogg, have been listed in the 1996 edition of Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. The Wainwrights attend Catawba College in Salisbury, N.C. The listing is based on academic achievement, service to the community, leadership in extracurricular activities and potential of students.

Melissa Rasmussen of Coeur d’Alene recently won the oral interpretation competition at Lewis and Clark College in Portland.

Rasmussen is a freshman at Northwest Nazarene College and competed with 322 students and 110 debate teams from 33 colleges and universities in six states.

She is a 1995 graduate of Lake City High School and the daughter of Jack and Jan Rasmussen.
