Robber Takes Cash At Gu Restaurant

From Staff Reports

A man robbed a restaurant Tuesday evening in the Gonzaga University student union, Spokane police said.

The robber walked into Taco Express at the COG, 710 E. DeSmet, and asked for change, police Sgt. Bill Scheres said.

When the clerk opened the cash register, the man calmly told her he had a gun and ordered her to lie on the floor, Scheres said.

She obeyed, and the robber grabbed all the cash in the drawer, then fled. He never displayed a gun. Police wouldn’t say how much money was stolen.

The robber was described as a white man in his 40s, about 6 feet tall, with a medium build and brown hair. He was wearing a blue nylon jacket with yellow lettering.
