South Hill Teen Tied Up In Robbery

From Staff And Wire Reports

Two armed men broke into a South Hill home Wednesday, tied up a teenage resident and left with his father’s television set, Spokane police said.

The robbery occurred about 10:15 p.m. in the 400 block of West 22nd, just off Bernard Street. The victim was home alone at the time.

Police said the men wore stocking masks and tied the teenager’s hands behind his back with duct tape. Then they put tape across his mouth. At least one of the men held a gun.

The victim told police he heard a car drive away after the robbers left and he ran next door to call for help.

Neighbor Paul Meyer said he had to cut the tape away from the youth’s hands when he showed up at the front door. The victim first called his father, an attorney who is out of town, Meyer said.

Then he called police.

The victim’s name was not released. Neighbors said the boy and his father had just moved in recently.
