Nic Women Defeat Western Montana

Freshman forward Tammy Kirk scored 26 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead North Idaho College past Western Montana, 77-71, Friday in a non-conference women’s basketball game.

Shawna Rainer had 16 points and eight rebounds for the Cardinals.

NIC outscored Western Montana 20-14 in the game’s final quarter to break a 50-50 tie.

The Cardinals jumped out to a 21-20 lead in the first quarter, but went into halftime knotted at 37.

Jaime Richards tallied 11 points for NIC, while teammate Mandy Jacques added 4.
