Camera Catches Abusive Baby Sitter

A suspicious parent set up a hidden camera and videotaped a baby sitter abusing his 2-year-old son.

“The camera photographed the baby sitter dragging his son across living room floor and slapping his face, and picking up his son and dropping him to the floor from a height of 3 feet,” police Capt. Richard Ward said.

The baby sitter, Felicia Pena, 41, was charged with attempted assault, reckless endangerment and endangering the welfare of a child, said Sgt. Edward Orski.

The boy, Coral Gamliel, was not injured. He was checked at a hospital and released.

Coral’s father, Sapir Gamliel, said he set up the camera in a bookcase after he saw Pena trying to swat his son as the boy played with a light switch. Gamliel turned on the camera before he and his wife went to work.
