Dow Jones Could Invest In Morningstar
Financial news publisher Dow Jones & Co. is negotiating to buy 20 percent of Morningstar Inc., a publisher of mutual fund information and ratings, according to a published report.
Neither Dow Jones nor Morningstar would comment Monday on the report in Crain’s Chicago Business, a weekly business journal.
An investment by Dow Jones, the New York-based publisher of the Wall Street Journal and Barron’s, would pump needed cash into Morningstar as founder and president Joe Mansueto expands its operations into electronic publishing and individual stock coverage.
