Egyptians March Against Terrorism

Compiled From Wire Services

Thousands of Egyptians shouted anti-terrorist slogans Tuesday as they marched in a mass funeral procession for victims of the suicide bombing of the country’s embassy in Pakistan on Sunday.

The display included representatives from all of Egypt’s opposition parties, and it was intended to underscore the widespread revulsion felt here after the attack, which is believed to have been carried out by Muslim militants.

Among the 16 people who have died of injuries suffered in the blast, five were Egyptians, and they are being mourned here as martyrs in the government’s 3-year-old war against Muslim militants who have vowed to replace Egypt’s secular regime with an Islamic state.
