Mavs Fall To Bulls In Overtime

Jim Jackson missed an uncontested shot under the basket with 2 seconds left in regulation, and the Chicago Bulls went on to beat the Dallas Mavericks 108-102 in overtime Monday night.

With Dallas trailing 102-100 and 47.6 seconds left in overtime, Jackson was called for traveling on a drive to the basket.

Michael Jordan, who finished with 36 points, then made two free throws, but Jason Kidd fed Jackson for a basket with 21.6 seconds to play. Toni Kukoc then added two more free throws at 19.7 seconds for a 106-102 lead.

Rookie Antonio McDyess scored 22 points on 11 of 15 shooting and grabbed 10 rebounds as Denver beat foul-troubled Atlanta for its first victory at home this season.

The Nuggets, winning for only the second time in 10 outings and first in four tries at home, went on a 10-0 run midway through the final period, capped by McDyess’ 10-footer, for a 93-83 lead with 5:11 left.
