The company that makes Nalley’s potato chips is laying off more than 100 people in the Northwest.
Utah-based Country Club Foods Inc. bought the chips and snack-food division of Nalley’s Fine Foods last year.
To save money, the company has begun shipping chips directly from a Salt Lake City manufacturing plant to supermarket warehouses. That means 50 to 60 jobs will be eliminated at Country Club’s Northwest distribution point in SeaTac. About 70 more people lost their jobs in regional offices in Spokane and Portland.
