Motive, Suspect Sought In Shooting

From Staff Reports

Spokane police say they have no motive for a North Side shooting late Tuesday that left a man in critical condition.

Alexander Lopez, 33, underwent surgery at Deaconess Medical Center for gunshot wounds. He remained there late Wednesday, a spokeswoman said.

Lopez was shot several times in front of the Lascelle Apartments, 1221 N. Monroe, about 11:30 p.m.

Police interviewed several witnesses to the shooting along with Lopez’s relatives but made no arrests. They had no suspects late Wednesday, Sgt. Jim Lundgren said.

It is unclear what the victim was doing prior to the shooting, police said. He was found on the sidewalk in front of the apartments, one door up from PePe’s Tavern. The victim had several friends who live in the apartment building, police said.

Lopez lived a block away at 1226 N. Madison. , DataTimes
