Library’s Internet Services Upgraded
Spokane City Library users can now download files and print off the Internet, two features that were not available when the free service began earlier this year.
Users of the city’s dial-in Internet service now can use an upgraded version of Lynx, a text-only browsing software for viewing documents on the Internet.
The new version comes with download and print options - letting users grab files or material from locations anywhere.
The library’s on-line Internet service now has 2,200 log-in sessions per month, said library computer operator Jim King.
Users must have a library card and a valid personal identification number.
