New faces:

The law firm of Layman, Loft & White has added the following people to its staff:

Timothy Fennessy, previously of D.E. McKelvey Jr. & Associates, will continue to concentrate his practice on personal injury, professional negligence, product liability and other insurancerelated litigation matters.

David Barbe’s practice will focus on business, commercial, construction, and products liability. Barbe was formerly with Taylor & Hintze in Seattle and earlier was a mechanical engineer for Union Carbide Corp.

George Ahrend joins the firm as an associate attorney, concentrating on commercial and tort litigations. He is a 1995 graduate of Gonzaga University’s School of Law, where he served as editor-in-chief of the law review.

Clayton Linnell has joined Shea Construction Inc., as controller. A University of Montana graduate, Linnell most recently was audit manager with BDO Seidman of Spokane. He spent the majority of his career with Price Waterhouse in Seattle.

Kaiser Aluminum has made the following appointments at its Mead facility:

Steve Anderson was named reduction manager. He will oversee Mead’s potroom, metal products and potlining departments, and will manage a work force of approximately 600. Anderson previously was a corporate manager of safety and health audits.

Karl Burch was hired as training and development manager. He received a master’s degree from Ohio State University. Burch previously worked for Washington Water Power Co. as an organization development consultant.

Roberta Moody joins Kaiser Mead as quality assurance coordinator. A graduate of Eastern Washington University, she spent 17 years with KB Alloys in Wenatchee, most recently as a technical manager.

Ken Pegg will handle internal communications and community affairs. Pegg was a steelworker at Mead for 17 years and worked most recently in organization development with the human resources department.

Metropolitan Property and Casualty Insurance has appointed Larry McKeever and Shannon Emory as property and casualty specialists at its Spokane sales office, 10015 N. Division. Emory is a graduate of Gonzaga University; McKeever graduated from West Linn High School in West Linn, Ore.

Jeffery Lembeck has joined the appraisal staff of Auble & Associates Inc. and will specialize in income producing residential properties. Lembeck was previously senior commercial appraiser/manager of the commercial appraisal department at Washington Mutual Bank, Seattle.

Derek Budig has been named a new sales associate with Windermere Real Estate. Budig, a 1994 Washington State University graduate, has practiced real estate with James S. Black for the past year.

Pam McCormick will join Acuff Northwest Inc. as a Realtor. McCormick has been in the housing and construction industry for 18 years.

Christopher Pratt has been hired as fleet manager for both Lake City Ford dealerships in Couer d’Alene. Pratt, a fleet manager for more than 10 years, has experience in the corporate, commercial, and municipal fleet business administration and sales.

Windermere Real Estate’s Spokane Maple office has hired Jeff Shaffer as a sales associate. Shaffer, new to real estate, has worked with Pennzoil Products Co. for the last 20 years.

Dennis Fetzer a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Plattville, has joined Douwe Egnerts Coffee Systems, USA, a division of Sara Lee Corp., as territory sales manager. Fetzer was most recently a district sales manager for El Ranchito and a consultant with Gai’s Bakery.

Terri Ahlf has been named center manager of Group Health Northwest’s Coeur d’Alene Health Care Center. Ahlf’s responsibilities will include maintaining and managing all medical, clinical, and office staff personnel issues.

Qpoint Home Mortgage Loans-Inland Lending Inc. has made the following additions to the Qpoint home loan team:

Cheri Ritter has been appointed vice president and office broker. Ritter has more than 10 years of mortgage industry experience and was most recently with Countrywide Funding in Bellevue, Wash.

Steven Brashears joins as senior loan officer. He has 25 years of industry experience and was most recently Principal Residential’s manager for Eastern Washington.

Daniel Jones has joined as a loan officer with 18 years of experience in sales management and marketing, including four years as a Realtor.

Ginger Michaels was hired as a loan officer. Michaels has more than nine years of mortgage origination experience.

Troy Norton, who has more than 12 years of consumer sales and finance experience, joins Qpoint as a loan officer.

Rhonda Lawson was named a loan processor. She has more than 12 years of consumer sales and finance experience, most recently with Mellon Mortgage.

Dr. Robert Harrison has joined Dr. Edwin Barker’s dental practice as an associate. Harrison, who has 14 years of experience in private and public dentistry, received his dental degree from the University of Michigan. Dr. Barker’s name was misspelled in last week’s column.

Moving Up:

Johnson Matthey Electronics has restructured its global operations into three product areas and named presidents to head each new group:

Benoit Pouliquen was promoted to president of the Semiconductor Products Group and will oversee all operations related to supplying front-end materials and services to manufacturers of semiconductor devices.

David Savage has become president of the Assembly Products Group and will remain stationed in San Diego. He will be responsible for worldwide operations to supply products and services to semiconductor packaging customers.

Bob Heller, has been appointed president of the Laminate Products Group. Heller will be based in Minneapolis and will be responsible for multi-layer printed circuit boards, contract assembly services and plastic laminate packages.

Starting Up:

Qpoint Home Mortgage Loans - Inland Lending Inc., has opened an office in the Riverpoint One building at 501 N. Riverpoint Blvd., suite 334.

Scott Diettert has opened Residential Design Services. Diettert has more than 13 years of experience in custom and speculative home designing. The business can produce accurate computer generated home drawings.

Cosmetic surgeon Dr. Martin Elliott has opened Aesthetic SurgiCare Northwest at 1111 Ironwood Drive, Coeur d’Alene. Elliott previously practiced in Orange County, Calif. Aesthetic SurgiCare Northwest provides a broad range of techniques in cosmetic/reconstructive surgery and skin rejuvenation.
