Donaldson Out For Season
Veteran Dallas Cowboys center Ray Donaldson, who has missed only 13 non-strike games during 16 years in the NFL, sustained what could be a career-ending injury Thursday when he fractured his right ankle during the first quarter against the Kansas City Chiefs at Texas Stadium.
“He will be out for the season,” Cowboys coach Barry Switzer said of the former Seattle Seahawk, who is scheduled to undergo surgery today.
Art Monk, the NFL’s all-time reception leader, signed a free-agent contract with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Third-string quarterback Jim McMahon asked for and received his release from the Cleveland Browns.
