Marion Geer Post Falls

Memorial service for Marion E. Geer, 86, will begin at 10 a.m. today at English Funeral Chapel, Post Falls.

Mrs. Geer, who died Saturday, was born in Newport, Wash.

She received her teaching certificate from Eastern Washington Teachers College, now Eastern Washington University. She received her masters degree in teaching in 1955.

She moved to Post Falls in 1972, when she retired from teaching.

She was a member of the Friends Community Church and Delta Kappa Gamma fraternity. She loved to paint, crochet and knit.

Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Floyd; one son, Bruce Geer of Coulee City, Wash.; her daughter, Sharon Boyle of Cheney; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Julia Wood Spokane

Memorial service for Julia Ranzenbach Wood, 85, was Monday at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. Private burial was at Spokane Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Wood, who died Wednesday, was born in Shenandoah, Iowa.

She worked as a private duty nurse in Spokane and as camp nurse at Twinlow Methodist Camp in Rathdrum, Idaho. She served as a coordinator for Widowed Person Services.

She had lived in Spokane for 47 years.

Mrs. Wood was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church and Moran United Methodist Church.

Her survivors include two daughters, Janice Madhu of Rochester, N.Y., and Brenda Phillips of Manchester, Calif.; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Moran United Methodist Church or South Hill Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Pierre Taylor Spokane

Service for R. Pierre Taylor, 91, will be at 1 p.m. today at Riplinger Funeral Home. Private burial will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.

Mr. Taylor, who died Saturday, was born in Mount Moriah, Mo.

He had been president of Northern School Supplies Co. in Missouri.

He had lived in Spokane for the past 15 years.

Mr. Taylor is survived by two sons, Richard Taylor of Spokane and Robert Taylor of Bozeman, Mont.; two sisters, Julene Funk of Hesperus, Colo., and Doris Dewar of British Columbia; nine grandchildren and 12 greatgrandchildren.

Robert Oswald Gresham, Ore.

Mass of Christian Burial for Robert Oswald, 79, is set for 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Coeur d’Alene. Committal service will follow at St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery. Coeur d’Alene English Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Oswald died Friday at his son’s home in Gresham, Ore.

He was born and raised in Crosby, Minn.

Mr. Oswald worked for the Civilian Conservation Corps and the Forest Service. He retired in 1977 as a management analyst from the Idaho Panhandle National Forests in Coeur d’Alene.

For the past 12 years he spent his summers in Coeur d’Alene and winters in Mesa, Ariz.

His memberships included the Knights of Columbus, the National Association of Conservation Corps Alumni, the American Association of Retired Persons, the Association of Retired Federal Employees, National Wildlife, the American Forestry Association, the Sacred Heart League and St. Thomas Catholic Church.

His wife of 50 years, Iris, died in 1990.

Survivors include two sons, James Oswald of Gresham, Ore., and Gregg W. Oswald of Saratoga Springs, N.Y.; one daughter, Lynn Oswald of Copperas Cove, Texas; five grandchildren and one greatgrandchild.

Faye Rebenstorf Coeur d’Alene

A private service and burial was held for Faye Rebenstorf, 89, who died Saturday.

Mrs. Rebenstorf was born in Knoxville, Iowa. She attended the University of Nebraska and Kinman Business University.

She taught in elementary and secondary schools and in college.

She and her late husband, Howard, started Howard’s Market and Nursery, now known as Duncan’s Garden and Nursery.

She held many accounting positions in Coeur d’Alene and also held a real estate license.

Her memberships included Coeur d’Alene Bible Church, Christian Business and Professional Women’s Club, the American Society of Women Accountants, the Idaho Retired Teachers Association and the National Council of Senior Citizens. She also was past state director of the American Association of Retired Persons.

Her husband died in 1966.

Mrs. Rebenstorf’s survivors include her daughter, Marilyn Disrud, one grandson, Todd Disrud, and one great-grandson, Nathaniel Disrud, all of Coeur d’Alene.

Memorial contributions may be made to Coeur d’Alene Bible Church or the Alzheimer’s Association, North Idaho Chapter.

Everett Bunce Prichard, Idaho

Mass of Christian Burial for Everett A. Bunce, 78, is planned for 11 a.m. today at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the veterans section of Coeur d’Alene Memorial Gardens. Coeur d’Alene Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Bunce, who died Friday, was born in Ashton, S.D. He served in the Army during World War II.

He worked in the Spokane-Idaho Mine until its closure in 1953 and then worked in road construction in Coeur d’Alene until his retirement in 1978. Mr. Bunce moved to Prichard in 1994.

He was a member of the Coeur d’Alene Eagles Lodge and enjoyed gardening and working on automobiles.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Phyllis; two sons, Richard Bunce of Potlach and Douglas Bunce of Coeur d’Alene; one daughter, Teresa Abernathy of Prichard; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Idaho Lung Association or the North Idaho Cancer Center of Kootenai Medical Center.

Dale Rullman Wallace

A memorial service for Dale Eldon Rullman, lifelong North Idaho resident, is set for 2 p.m. today at the Elks Club, Wallace. Shoshone Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Rullman, 74, who died Friday, graduated from Wallace High School and attended the University of Idaho. He owned Rullman’s Clothing store in Wallace.

He was a member of the Wallace Elks Club and the University of Idaho Hall of Fame.

He enjoyed boating and his home on Lake Coeur d’Alene.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Betsy; one son, Bruce Rullman of Elko, Nev.; and two grandsons, Mike Rullman of Coeur d’Alene and Chris Rullman of Tigard, Ore.

Memorial contributions may be given to Rullman’s Scholarship Fund, c/o University of Idaho Vandal Boosters, University of Idaho, Moscow, ID 83843.

Walter Foltz Spokane

Visitation for Walter W. Foltz, 72, is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. Vigil service will follow at 7 p.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Mr. Foltz died Friday.

He was born in Ririe, Idaho.

He served in the Navy during World War II.

Mr. Foltz graduated from the University of Idaho and practiced architecture in Spokane for 35 years. He operated an architecture firm and worked on the Spokane Opera House and Convention Center.

He was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Barbara; two sons, Stephen Foltz of Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif., and David Foltz of Fayetteville, N.C.; one daughter, Carolyn Foltz Fischer of Spokane; and five grandchildren.

Theodore Albi Spokane

Funeral Mass for Theodore B. “Ted” Albi, 86, will be at noon today at St. Aloysius Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Fairmount Memorial Park.

Mr. Albi, who died Thursday, was a lifetime Spokane resident. He graduated from Gonzaga Preparatory School and Gonzaga University.

In 1920, Mr. Albi’s brother, Joseph Albi, founded the Athletic Round Table. When it was incorporated in 1936, he hired Ted as manager. He acted as manager for more than 25 years and retired from the Athletic Round Table in 1964. He returned to school to study for a real estate license and was later involved in real estate investment and appraisal.

A wing of Gonzaga University’s Foley Library was named after Mr. Albi, in recognition of his generosity.

Mr. Albi was a member of Assumption Catholic Parish and the Eagles Lodge No. 2.

There are no surviving family members.

Ellen Robertson Spokane

Service for Ellen B. Robertson, 89, is set for noon today at Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Marshall Cemetery.

Mrs. Robertson, who died Wednesday was born in Winona, Wash.

She married Loren Robertson in Colfax in 1926. The couple moved from Winona to Four Lakes in 1966.

Mrs. Robertson was a homemaker.

Her husband died in 1977.

She is survived by two sons, Malcolm Robertson of Spokane and Wallace Robertson of Dayton, Wash.; two daughters, Ellen Dixon of Spokane and Laura Beck of Moses Lake; one sister, Anna Odell of Pullman; 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Richard Hays Cheney

Visitation for Richard Hays, 73, is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Cathedral. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Cheney.

Mr. Hays, who was born in Amber, Wash., died Friday.

He graduated from Cheney High School and served in the Navy during World War II.

From 1951 until 1956, he worked for the federal government as a civilian electrician on Guam. He later worked as a sales representative for Cheney Building Supply for 17 years and retired from Diamond International in Spokane.

He was a volunteer at the House of Charity for many years.

Mr. Hays is survived by two brothers, James Hays of Cheney and Clarence Hays of Wenatchee; and one sister, Gertrude Adams of Spokane.
