Police Seeking Assault Suspects

Compiled From Wire Services

Police are searching for two men who allegedly fired a pistol in the Albertsons parking lot Saturday night and then tried to run over three people.

The men are described as white males, wearing flannel shirts and baseball caps and driving an imported pickup.

The incident happened shortly after 6 p.m. Three other men were getting out of a car in the grocery store lot.

One of them thought he heard his named called by one of the suspects.

So the three men started walking toward the pickup. The driver pointed a small, semiautomatic pistol at the trio and said, “you want a piece of this?” according to a police report.

The driver of the truck then fired the pistol at the ground in front of the three men. The trio started to walk away. The passenger yelled “let’s run the (expletives) over” and the pickup started to come after them.

Then the pickup left the area. No one was injured.

Police found a shell casing that may have come from the gun, said Capt. Carl Bergh. They also have identified a suspect vehicle and have information on the owners.
