Police: Teens Rob Boy For Soda

From Staff Reports

Two teenage boys beat and robbed a 16-year-old for his bottle of Pepsi late Tuesday, Spokane police said.

The victim told police he bought a two-liter bottle of the soda at Munchkin Market on East Mission shortly before 11 p.m.

As he was walking home, he saw three boys filling up a car with gas at a nearby convenience store. One of the boys demanded money, and the victim said he didn’t have any.

Then the boy demanded the victim give him the bottle of pop. When the victim refused, the boy knocked him to the ground and started kicking him in the head, police said.

A second boy also started kicking the victim. Then the third teenager yelled that they should leave before police showed up. The trio drove away in an older-model orange Honda Civic.

A witness told police the primary assailant was about 18 years old, but no other descriptions were available. Police have no suspects.

The victim was treated by paramedics at the scene. He did not require hospitalization.
