Harley-Davidson Balks At Firm’s Hogs Symbol

Harley-Davidson is having a cow over a motorcycle store’s use of HOGS.

An Orange County-based chain of used motorcycle stores called Bikers Dreams went public in March and received the trading symbol HOGS from Nasdaq.

But Harley-Davidson has a beef: The Milwaukee-based motorcycle maker says it owns the word “hog” when it’s used in the biker business.

Two companies and two sets of lawyers are fighting over the four-letter word. Harley-Davidson trades under the symbol HDI.
