Usair Entertains Bids For Sale

USAir Group Inc. has been in talks about selling itself to American or United airlines, USAir said Monday.

In Chicago, a spokesman for UAL Corp. said the parent of United was considering buying USAir.

Any deal to buy USAir would come as the carrier has struggled to regain its footing after years of losses and a streak of crashes that undermined passengers’ confidence.
