Wallpaper Designs Display Mexican Style

Gary Krino Orange County Register

Across the country, salsa is outselling ketchup, tortillas are the fastest-growing segment of the baking industry, and Latin American art, music and literature are capturing wide audiences.

So we shouldn’t be surprised that the design industry is catching onto the south-of-the-border trend, too.

Imperial Wallcoverings is unveiling what it describes as the first-ever collection of wallpapers and coordinated fabrics devoted to authentic Mexican designs.

Titled Casa Hermosa, the collection is divided into five groupings, including motifs found on Mexican clothing, primitive art and pottery; Diego Rivera flowers; Mayan and Aztec designs; pottery and tile; and tropical fruits.

Prices range from $19.99 for wallpaper to $21.99 and $27.99, respectively, for borders and fabrics. For more information, call (800) 539-5399.
